With a population of 150 million people growing annually at 2%, Nigeria faces serious challenges in infrastructure deve-lopment. Authoritative sources on the current status of infrastructure in the country have estimated a deficit of $500 billion to $1 trillion in the strategic areas that must be trans-formed to ensure steady growth and development in the next 10 years.
The federal and state governments have historically bankrolled the majority of infrastructure projects in Nigeria . With this magnitude of deficit, it is clear that the government needs private capital to complement its investment efforts.
